After being asked who my role model was, it became clear there wasn't just one. Instead, there were pieces of many people—women and men whose elegance, warmth, intuition, hospitality, confidence, grace, and way of moving through the world had left an impression on me.
Those qualities were gathered together and given a name:
Elegant Evelyn.
Named after a beloved woman from my hometown, she became a muse. Then she became a guide. And eventually, she became an experiment.
That experiment inspired a series of small but powerful changes. Alcohol was released. More than 50 pounds followed. Anxiety lessened. Intuition blossomed. Life became less about coping and more about living.
Not because perfection was achieved.
Because a different question was being asked.
